My name is Sherry and I have a passion for making soap and formulating other bath and body products. I have been making soap, salves and creams for my family forever. During all those years I have been chasing the perfect soap. I've made really great soap, but the soap I am making now is, in my humble opinion, the best I've ever made and far, far better than any I have ever purchased.

My other passion has always been music. I don't care about genres, my only criteria is that it sounds good or speaks to me in some way. I once heard a story about Paul McCartney during the time when the Beatles reigned supreme. He was answering questions from a reporter and being delightfully mischievous. His answer to Hair? was "long". To Eyes? he replied "two". You see where this is going. To Favorite Music? he answered "good". Yes Paul, I completely agree!

One day I was working on a salve for a particularly sensitive chafing issue my husband was suffering with. I joked that I should sell it and call it Great Balls of Fire! We got a good laugh at that, but the things I made were a labor of love for my family, not a commercial enterprise.

Over the past several years I have found myself a widow and an empty nester as my children have all grown up and moved on to adulthood. I'm so happy that they have all found wonderful partners and I couldn't be more proud of the people they have become, but I couldn't shake the nagging feeling of "Now what?". I had given the past 20 years wholeheartedly to being a wife and mother, but frankly at the time I was feeling quite lost.

Until I could figure out what the next chapter of my life would bring, I turned to my passion of formulating bath and body to occupy my free time. Of course, listening to my stellar play list always kept me company while I was working! I was fine tuning my tried and true family favorites, and experimenting with new recipes and techniques. The more I made, the more I wanted to make.

Along the way my future gelled into the idea for Lyric-Lane. The needs of my friends and family couldn't keep up with my desire to make more soap, so I started selling at my local farmer's market. That reinforced that people really genuinely loved my products. Having others value what you create is an amazing high and I am deeply honored by their praises.

The name Lyric-Lane harkens back to that off hand joke about chafing salve (of all things!). Now all of my products are named after songs on my playlist. The particular song, scent, and design are all a part of the creative process. Sometimes the combination is obvious. Other times I'm not really sure in what direction to go until it just comes to me and I know it's right.

I am privileged to serve my customers and hope to count you as one also. Please have a look around and, if nothing else, listen to some great music while you browse. If you have any questions or if there's anything I can do for you, please feel free to let me know.
